As a Gen-X human, I've always felt pretty fortunate that I was surrounded by music of every era and generation. From classical and jazz, to rock and blues, and from Billie Holiday to Billy Idol and Billie Eilish, there's not much I don't like and draw influence from. To me it's all good as long as it's moves other humans and makes them feel connected and alive.
While I started my adventures in music in High School in a garage punk band, my professional music career really started in 2017 after gaining inspiration from the movie Once. Soon after, I obtained my first busking license and started performing on Church Street in Burlington, VT as the Ukulele Riot Grrrl.
I believe we are all part of Consciousness, and I play and write music that speaks to our shared connections and experiences. I am always seeking to expand myself to better serve the evolution of Consciousness and my fellow human beings.
I’ve heard that the best introduction for a musician starts with the music they are passionate about. Since my music tree’s been growing for over 6 decades, I guess I’ve got a lot to choose from, but my taproot is securely anchored in ‘60s Folk, the crown, blossoming in alternative, and a robust heartwood of evolving rock genres along the way, layered as concentric ring upon ring.
My bark is acoustic guitar smooth like a beech and emits a juglone to pop music, like the black walnut. A sugary sap of harmonic melody rises through my cambium, feeding the ever broadening canopy. Through consciousness connections, both underground and above with other musicians in my copse, my passion drifts on the breeze to pollinate the hearts of a busking public.
